Japan, ravaged by war, has morphed into a futuristic land of disjointed military factions. The nation is sliced into four military zones, each controlled by a nation vying for ultimate power, offering no relief for the beleaguered Japanese populace. The long-fought Boundary War, fought using humanoid mecha weapons called AMAIM, has turned dormant, but animosity between these military groups prevails. This results in the Japanese people being heavily oppressed. Amou Shiiba, a 16-year-old orphan boy, secretly reconstructs an abandoned AMAIM named Kenbu. While embroiled in his mission, he comes across Gai, an independent AI desperate for a power source. As they decide to collaborate, they unexpectedly become the epicenter of chaos. Consequently, Amou is labeled a terrorist and outcast from society. But Amou's passion for justice will not be suppressed, and it ignites his quest for freedom. Amidst a battle laden with trials and collective gratification, his goal shifts from merely leading a peaceful life to liberating the Japanese people.
