Description:
In the summer of 1945, amidst the ongoing three-year war between Japan and the USA, Gen, a young boy residing in the city of Hiroshima, faces challenging but fulfilling circumstances. Despite an astonishing escape from the devastating bombings that ravaged several other Japanese cities, Gen's family is grappling with the scarcity of food, causing his expectant mother's health to decline. Fueled by a tireless work ethic and a strong will to survive, Gen and his younger brother, Shinji, do all they can to support their family. However, as fate would have it, the impending doom of Hiroshima's catastrophic destruction at the hands of the Americans on August 6th, 1945, remains unbeknownst to the siblings.
