Description:

The survival of Earth is at risk once again, as an alien race from planet Zeraz plans to invade due to their own planet's impending destruction by a Black Hole. The ruthless Great Darius, along with his four generals, unleash chaos and devastation upon humanity. After the death of an ESP warrior, professor Hi-Tech recognizes the gravity of the situation and develops the colossal Space Dragon (Daiku Maryuu), with Pete as its pilot, and the esteemed robot Gaiking, operated by ex-baseball player Sanshiro Shiwobuki. The Daiku Maryuu takes on the appearance of a massive dragon-shaped spacecraft, with the Gaiking serving as its head and torso. As the Gaiking joins the battle, the Daiku Maryuu deploys other components of the Gaiking, before reuniting to form an impenetrable defence against the enemy. The story follows the epic conflict between the crew of the partially transformative carrier, Daikuu Maryuu, and Super Mecha Gaiking, in their pursuit to conquer the invading extraterrestrial Zela race. The Gaiking robot, under the command of baseball star Sanshiro Tsuwabuki (known as Aries Astonopolis in the English version), earned praise for being set in real-world locations away from Japan and for being the first super robot series to incorporate a movable carrier for the main robotic entities.
