Kaho Nikaidou is used to being treated with utmost respect, partly because of her privileged background. Never before had anyone dared to speak ill of her, but she wants more than just people’s fear of her family. To truly experience the world, she chooses to stay at a dormitory for the new school term. Unfortunately, her first day doesn’t go as smoothly as planned. She gets lost and wanders into traffic, but a handsome stranger comes to her rescue. Eager to thank her hero, Kaho asks for his name, but he coldly dismisses her, calling her odd before walking away. Much to her surprise, she’s smitten by this mysterious stranger despite his rude behavior. Her knight in shining armor turns out to be Kanade Takahashi. Kaho is elated when Kanade confesses his feelings for her. However, he warns her about his secret. When Kaho finds out that the boy she likes is a fifth-grader, she's conflicted about whether to pursue the relationship. Eventually, she chooses to give him a chance. The series, Hatsukoi Monster follows Kaho as she embarks on a relationship with Kanade, who is kind-hearted but somewhat immature.
