Description:

An unforeseen revelation caught Miaka Yuuki and Yui Hongo off guard as they explored the National Library. A peculiar ancient text emanating crimson smoke unexpectedly transported them to a foreign realm filled with perilous slave traders. Fortunately, a commended figure named Tamahome, whose forehead bore a Chinese insignia, arrived in time to rescue them; however, the display of smoke reappeared, and Yui vanished. Miaka was distressed and sought Tamahome's aid in locating her friend. It was only later that they met Hotohori, the emperor of their unfamiliar setting, convinced that Miaka was the prophesized priestess of Suzaku, the kingdom's defender. The priestess's wishes would be granted by Suzaku, but first, Hotohori required Miaka to gather its seven Celestial Warriors. He urged Miaka to embrace this mission as it would resolve her problems and also preserve his kingdom. Unbeknownst to them, Yui had made her way back alone to the library and could only view from afar as her dearest friend underwent gripping trials in the book's mystifying heroine.
