Description:
While en route to a doujin convention in Tokyo's Ginza district, Youji Itami - a self-proclaimed otaku and off-duty officer for the Japan Self-Defense Forces - bears witness to a tremendous gateway, which in turn releases a horde of supernatural creatures and armored warriors. Amidst the destruction and loss of life, Youji dutifully rises to the challenge, doing his best to save as many as he can alongside his fellow JSDF comrades. Now, three months later, Youji is tasked with leading an elite recon team into the mysterious "Special Region" beyond the gate, part of a wider JSDF initiative aimed at gathering intel on their alien opponents and establishing peace with the empire which governs that land. Should Youji and his team falter in their mission, the result could be nothing less than catastrophic, potentially sparking a devastating conflict that engulfs both worlds.
