Description:
After a year's absence, Shinpachi Shimura returns to Edo only to be stunned by his Yorozuya cohorts- Gintoki and Kagura- who have undergone dramatic character changes. Confused and alarmed, Shinpachi flees the Yorozuya headquarters only to find that Edo's citizens have undergone impossible, extreme makeovers in appearance and personality. He's astounded that his sister Otae has wedded the leader of Shinsengumi and stalker extraordinaire, Isao Kondou, and is carrying their offspring. Shinpachi, feeling lost, reluctantly accepts the request to join Shinsengumi at Otae and Kondou's behest. As a result, he uncovers even more drastic changes in and outside of the organization. However, he is relieved to find that Vice Chief Toushirou Hijikata remains unchanged. With Hijikata's help, Shinpachi endeavors to revert Edo back to its original state. Gintama' abounds with even more ribald humor, amusing spoofs, and amusing allusions, following the Yorozuya gang's escapades in the colorful, exotic domain of Edo.
