The Halo Legends anthology encompasses a total of seven unique stories that take place within the Halo universe, each of which was crafted by a distinct studio. The Babysitter follows a unit of Helljumpers, the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers sent on a mission behind enemy lines to carry out an assassination. The Duel chronicles the tale of an ancient Arbiter who refused to submit to the Covenant religion and, as a consequence of his defiance, must face the repercussions of his actions. In The Package, a team of Spartans, including the famed Master Chief, are tasked with infiltrating a Covenant flagship and recovering a secretive "package" in a clandestine operation. Origins dives into the stranded Master Chief and his AI companion Cortana's recollection of the fall of the Forerunners, the crushing defeat of the Flood, and the ascension of humanity, along with the defining moments of the Human-Covenant War. Homecoming is focused on the Spartan named Daisy, who recounts her past involvement with the SPARTAN-II program while evacuating UNSC soldiers enduring a drawn-out siege by the Covenant. Prototype is presented from the perspective of Marine Sergeant Ghost, who is determined to make amends for past mistakes and fights with all his might to do so. Lastly, Odd One Out is an amusing non-canon parody of Halo, featuring Spartan 1337, who suffers from a chronic run of terrible luck.
