Description:
During her summer break spent at her grandfather's residence, a six-year-old girl named Hotaru Takegawa wanders off and gets lost in a forest that is believed to be occupied by ghosts. Lost and terrified, she encounters a mystery boy who goes by the name Gin and wears a mask. Gin offers his assistance to the grateful Hotaru who runs towards Gin with open arms hoping for his guidance back home. Unfortunately, Gin refuses her and explains he is under a horrific curse that will cause him to vanish from existence if touched by humans, including Hotaru. Gin warns Hotaru not to return; however, she doesn't listen and eventually becomes friends with him, disregarding his fragile position. As they age, their affection towards each other intensifies, but their fate creates obstacles between them.
