Shinichirou Asano's luck has run out. His parents ditched him for Europe, and with the meager funds they left behind, he's fighting to keep his head above water. As a high school student, his work options are limited, particularly after his recent job dismissal. One evening while walking home, he's attacked by a threatening centipede beast. He's rescued by Sakuya Shimazu, an attractive schoolmate with exceptional archery skills. However, this is just the beginning of his misadventure. Shinichirou discovers that Sakuya is part of a lineage of exorcists that safeguard humanity from malevolent ghosts and spirits. To compound matters, the girl he saved earlier isn't human but instead a two-tailed demon cat known as a nekomata. Thanks to Sakuya's assistance, Shinichirou saves the nekomata's life, but that's just the start of their association. The Shimazu clan is searching for a housekeeper, and Shinichirou's abilities in the kitchen and with a duster are top-notch. Although he may not enjoy being a maid, it pays his bills and puts food on the table.
