Description:
This whimsical animated version of a classic fairy tale adds some twists to the traditional story. Jack, a young boy, is tricked into trading his family's prized cow for a handful of beans that turn out to be no ordinary legumes. When he plants them, they magically grow into a vine that reaches up towards the clouds. Climbing to the top, Jack discovers a peculiar world ruled by a magical princess named Margaret. Despite the fact that Prince Tulip is neither handsome nor kind, Margaret loves him. However, it's soon revealed that an evil witch named Madam Noir put a spell on Margaret to make her fall in love with Tulip, her only son. Can Jack help Margaret break the curse and avoid an unwanted marriage? Acclaimed Japanese animator Gisaburo Sugii directs this vibrant adaptation that has gained a devoted following for its imaginative storyline and vivid aesthetic.
