Description:
Mushi-uta is set in the near future where, a decade before the start of the story, peculiar insect-like creatures called "Mushi" emerged. These organisms can trade people's dreams and ideas for mystic powers. The first episode concludes with the introduction of Shiika Anmoto, a young girl whom protagonist Daisuke "Kakkou" Kusuriya befriends. Despite growing close, Kakkou remains unaware that Shiika is a fugitive who escaped from GARDEN, a covert facility that detains individuals possessed by the Mushi, known as "Mushitsuki." The Special Environmental Conservation Executive Office, GARDEN's military unit, dispatches its top assassin to find Shiika but faces opposition from the Mushibane group, led by the enigmatic "Ladybird."
