The enigmatic phantom thief, Joker, conducts audacious heists under the cover of the gleaming night, targeting precious treasures one after the other. Despite the persistent pursuits of the unwavering police investigator, Dokusaburou Oniyama, the self-proclaimed "Miracle Maker" employs a range of ostentatious tricks to slip away, balancing between the worlds of magic and science. Amidst pilfering the "Dragon Gem" from a presumptuous millionaire's mansion, Hachi, an awkward yet diligent ninja, crosses Joker's path, both vying for the same prize. Despite Joker's disposition towards Hachi as nothing more than an annoyance, the determined duo's collaboration culminates in a triumphant theft. Acknowledging Hachi's resourcefulness, bravery, and skills in household upkeep, Joker reluctantly extends an invitation to him as his student. Embarking on the pursuit of their next target, Joker and Hachi are confronted with rival phantom thieves, some of whom are former acquaintances while others prove to be new adversaries. Through these challenges, Joker competes to be recognized as the premier "magician" of the dazzling night.
