Ebichu the hamster appears to be an ideal domestic animal - she tidies up, shops for groceries, prepares meals, does laundry, and endeavors to gratify her owner, referred to as the "Office Lady" (OL). Sadly, OL's faithless partner and Ebichu's boundless vivacity and fondness for ice cream frequently land her in grave and painful trouble. Nonetheless, Ebichu endures the ill-treatment as long as it helps her attain her objective of bringing a little joy to her cherished master.
