Description:
Hiko Seiijuro, a solitary swordsman and recluse, comes across a group of bandits attacking a slave wagon before the Japanese Revolution. In an effort to save lives, Hiko defeats the bandits but only manages to spare one person from the bloodshed. Leaving the child behind, Hiko instructs him to seek refuge in a nearby village. Upon returning to check on the child, Hiko is shocked to find graves for both the enslaved and bandits. Recognizing the child's potential, Hiko takes him under his wing and dubs him Kenshin, which means "heart of sword," and trains him in the sword-fighting technique of Hiten Mitsuruugi Ryu. Tsuiokuhen details the story of Himura Kenshin, once feared as the lethal assassin, the Hitokiri Battousai. His journey is one of grief and darkness as he struggles to uphold his idealistic beliefs amid the cruel realities of life.
