The year is 2142, and Wonderful Days portrays a planet decimated by environmental pollution. The extinction of human life is an imminent threat, and only a select few have endured the collapse of Earth's ecosystem. In an effort to cope with the pandemonium, the city of Ecoban is established. This metropolis fuels its operations with the very pollutants that brought about the global catastrophe. Nevertheless, while its original purpose was partially successful in generating an alternative energy source, Ecoban also engenders an exclusive and privileged class of people. The high-status group believes they are exempt from the system and refuse to admit outsiders as anything other than laborers. Outside of Ecoban, a young man named Shua resides in the barren wasteland. Though his life is plagued with hardships, he perseveres with the love he feels for his childhood friend Jay. Unfortunately, Jay seems captivated by her security commander Cade, giving rise to a love triangle that exacerbates Shua's heartbreak. To make matters worse, he must also learn to survive in a world that has been ravaged by natural disasters.
