Fitted with an array of gadgets and a potent engine, it poses a challenge to anyone who dares to rival its speed. The driver of this outstanding vehicle is Gou Mifune, a teenager with aspirations to break into the realm of professional racing. Regardless, Daisuke Mifune, Gou's father and the creator of the Mach 5, strictly forbids his son from venturing near the racetrack. Undaunted, Gou's girlfriend Michi, younger brother Kurio, and Kurio's simian companion Sanpei cheer Gou on as he sets out to become the greatest racer of all time. Gou soon realizes that achieving his goal is no mean feat. From the nefarious schemes of corrupt businessmen to the stiff competition he faces from his nemesis, Racer X, Gou encounters many obstacles on his journey and must demonstrate his worth before he can triumphantly cross the finish line.
