Description:
During the Sengoku era in Japan, Kotarou is an orphan who resorts to stealing from villagers with his dog Tobimaru to survive. He is constantly on the run as assassins from China's Ming Dynasty are after him for reasons unknown to him. Fortune favors Kotarou when Nanashi, a ronin seeking refuge in a small temple, comes to their rescue after a brutal attack leaves Tobimaru poisoned. Although the samurai saves them from their attackers, he is hesitant to offer further assistance. Kotarou manages to persuade him with a gem in exchange for protecting them until Tobimaru recovers and they reach their destination. As they embark on a dangerous journey, it becomes clear that they are not safe from danger. The Ming Dynasty has sent a fierce swordsman to capture Kotarou, driven by an enigmatic prophecy.
