Tiger Mask was a wrestler feared for his brutality in the ring during his time in America. Yet, upon his return to Japan, he encountered a young boy who idolized him as a villain, sparking a shift in his perspective. This boy resided in the same orphanage where Tiger Mask grew up and his aspirations to become a villain made the wrestler realize the error of his ways. Thus, he adopted a heroic persona. In both the manga and anime adaptations, Tiger's Cave is a clandestine organization that trains promising wrestlers to become malevolent figures. In exchange for this training, they demand half of the earnings generated by these wrestlers. Nevertheless, Tiger Mask, formerly known as "Yellow Devil" and a member of Tiger's Cave, opted to sever ties with them and donate his earnings to his former orphanage. This gesture infuriated the organization's leader who dispatched assassins, some of whom were wrestlers, to seek retribution against Tiger Mask for his disloyalty.
