Tokyo's Shadows Hide Something Sinister... Tatsuma Hiyuu, a reserved high school senior, enrolls at Magami Academy in Shinjuku during spring. Despite his outsider status, his impressive martial arts skills command the attention of Kyouichi Houraiji, a notorious troublemaker in his class. The encounter leads him to join forces with Yuuya Daigo of the wrestling club, Komaki Sakurai, the captain of the girls' archery club, and Aoi Misato, the Student Council President, unlocking each of their supernatural abilities. Following a jarring disruption of the mystical flow of energy known as Ryumyaku, the five teenagers harness their powers and acknowledge their responsibility to safeguard Tokyo from the demonic Oni under the guidance of Kisaragi Clan's young heir, Hisui. These new friends embark on a journey to fend off the darkness that dwells deep within the city's core, finding out that their battles have only just begun. Fighting relentlessly with Hisui by their side, this unlikely team realizes that their true test lies in overcoming a dark and ancient power unleashed by an unknown perpetrator steeped in the use of the Dark Arts. As they encounter their fates, the teenagers must rise above their demons and imperfections to defeat the malevolent forces that threaten to destroy Tokyo forever. This manga-inspired anime has been adapted from the original Nintendo role-playing game released in 1998.
