After the catastrophic Armageddon, the world has become infested with vampires, posing humanity with another threat. The ongoing clashes between the Methuselah (vampires) and Terrans (humans) have disintegrated the globe into divided factions. The Methuselah are a part of the New Human Empire, while the Terrans occupy the Vatican Papal State. The Rosenkreuz Order exacerbates the already strained relations between the two factions, attempting to initiate another war, disregarding the factions' efforts to evade any direct conflict. To deter extremist groups, the Vatican introduces the AX unit, which combats organizations that engage in terrorism. Under the command of Cardinal Caterina Sforza, the AX agents investigate confrontations related to vampires, aiming to bring about a harmonious coexistence between the Methuselah and Terrans in the future. Priest Abel Nightroad is a member of the AX unit, disguising his gentleness with a disoriented appearance while exhibiting exceptional vampire slaying skills in battle. Sister Esther Blanchett, a courageous and gentle nun with a painful past, joins the unit as his partner. As Abel and Esther draw closer, they discover that something sinister is manipulating events behind the scenes. However, their journey is filled with misfortunes that force them to face their emotional trauma.
