Description:
Once celebrated as a hero throughout the kingdom of Earlshide, Merlin Wolford has long since retreated to the rural woods, where he lives with the young orphan he rescued, Shin. This Japanese salaryman was reincarnated into Merlin's realm and has quickly demonstrated impressive abilities in both magic and martial arts, much to Merlin's delight. Yet as Shin approaches his 15th birthday, it becomes clear that he lacks important social skills, displays little common sense, and struggles to take responsibility. In order to mature and refine his combat abilities among peers, Shin enrolls in the Magic Academy, though his reputation as a hero makes it difficult for him to lead a normal life. Though he initially struggles to adjust to high school in the kingdom's capital, Shin soon makes friends, gains knowledge of his world, and fights the dark forces conspiring against himself and his home.
