Originium, a black mineral that produces immense energy and unlocks the ability to perform magical feats known as Arts, caused a technological revolution in Terra. Catastrophe sites, areas ravaged by natural disasters caused by Originium, hold vast reserves of the mineral. However, the use of Originium comes at a high cost - it causes Oripathy, a contagious and incurable disease that leads to discrimination towards those infected. This led to the formation of the Reunion faction, who destroy cities and further exacerbate the chaos. Rhodes Island is a paramilitary pharmaceutical organization that provides equal treatment to all individuals, infected or not. They are at the forefront of Oripathy research, hoping to provide a cure for the afflicted. However, their leader, the mysterious Doctor, suffers from amnesia, making progress difficult. Regardless, they strive to bring hope to those who suffer from the devastating disease.
