The story of Attacker You! follows You Hazuki, a determined 13-year-old girl who moves from Osaka to Tokyo to live with her father and attend school. You is an avid volleyball player and dreams of representing Japan at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. She joins her school's team and quickly proves herself as one of the best, despite her coach's harsh methods. Living with You and her father is her younger brother Sunny, who idolizes her and follows her everywhere. You is also curious about her father's reaction to a blonde woman named Kyushi Tajima, whom she sees covering volleyball games on TV. Along the way, You develops a complicated friendship with her former rival Nami Hayase, and also develops a crush on the captain of Hikawa's boys' volleyball team, So Takiki.
