The duo behind the manga "Detective Trap," writer-artist team Akito Takagi and Moritaka Mashiro (also known as Muto Ashirogi), are on their way to becoming world-renowned mangaka with its serialization. However, for Mashiro, this is only the beginning. He promised to marry his childhood sweetheart and aspiring voice actress, Azuki Miho, once their manga gets made into an anime, so he must work hard to popularize Ashirogi's work. Along the way, they face a competitive cast of ambitious mangaka, such as the wild genius Eiji Niizuma, the elegant student Yuriko Aoki and her older partner Takurou Nakai, the lazy prodigy Kazuya Hiramaru, and the abrasive artist Shinta Fukuda, who both support and compete with Muto Ashirogi in creating the next big hit.
