Within the vast array of creatures that populate the world, there are certain beings deemed as the "ultimate species" due to their unmatched strength and magical prowess, placing them at the pinnacle of the power pyramid. The allure of these coveted traits leads many humans to seek them out, placing the creatures' very existence in danger. Rein Shroud, an adept beast tamer, harnesses his ability to command various animals for diverse purposes like reconnaissance and logistics. He teams up with Arios Orlando, a devious hero, but is eventually cast out six months later as his non-combative class renders him ineffective in battle. Unbeknownst to his former comrades, Rein possesses exceptional beast taming skills that are unveiled when he encounters Kanade, a cat spirit and one of the ultimate species.
