Description:
A vast expanse of sand-covered earth hosts a solitary landmass, the Mud Whale, which bears an ancient township full of individuals known as "Marked." These people possess supernatural abilities and live short lives. Chakuro, the town's archivist, explores newly-discovered islands, but they are mostly deserted with remnants of past residents scattered about. One day, a new island appears on the horizon, calling Chakuro and friends for a scouting mission. They find evidence of an abandoned civilization at the ruins they discover. Moreover, Chakuro encounters a girl who will shift the Mud Whale's existence and alter his fate in ways unimaginable.
