Description:
Midorijima Island in Japan was purchased by the prominent and commanding Toue Inc. some time ago, aiming to construct Platinum Jail, a luxurious and idyllic facility for the world's wealthiest citizens. Sadly, the original inhabitants were forced to leave and inhabit the Old Residential District without any further aid once Platinum Jail was erected. The two common games played on the island are Rib and Rhyme, with Rib being a historic-turf war game while Rhyme is a tech-savvy virtual reality game that involves an "All-Mate" AI (often resembling a pet) and an "Usui" mediator for participation. Aoba Seragaki, in contrast, does not have any inclination for either game and likes to lead a relaxed life with his grandmother and all-mate Ren. Nevertheless, after being hauled into a perilous Rhyme match and hearing about disappearing Rib players, Aoba's desire for a normal existence is completely shattered.
