Description:
Humanity has made significant advancements in the not-too-distant future, enabling complete body transplants from flesh to machine. As a result, physical and cybernetic abilities are on the rise, and the line between the two worlds is becoming increasingly blurry. Though, unfortunately, the technology is also being abused by criminals, leading to new and exceptionally hazardous crimes. In response, the Japanese Government has authorized an independent police unit called Section 9 to handle such sensitive situations. Headed by Daisuke Aramaki and Motoko Kusanagi, Section 9 tackles crime across the entire social spectrum with great success. However, their expertise is put to the test when a new A level hacker, known as "The Laughing Man," emerges on the scene. The team becomes embroiled in a treacherous cat and mouse game, relentlessly pursuing the hacker's trail as it leaves an indelible mark on Japan.
