Description:
Ichikawa Haruko's manga, "Houseki no Kuni" (Land of the Lustrous), originally featured in Afternoon, gives birth to a new life form in the distant future - the Houseki. The 28 Houseki face the Tsukijin, who intend to use them as ornaments, and are each assigned different roles such as medic or fighter. Despite her aspirations to fight the moon people, Phos, a gem, is given no specific task until Kongo, the gems' chief, urges her to produce a natural history magazine. This promotional video celebrates the release of the manga's first volume via YouTube.
