Description:

The destruction of a neutral country during a mobile suit battle in Cosmic Era 0071 resulted in the tragic loss of Shinn Asuka's family. Deeply affected, he decides to seek revenge against the Earth's Natural forces, believing they were responsible for his family's death. Shinn rises through the ranks of the ZAFT military and eventually gains access to the powerful Impulse mobile suit. Meanwhile, Athrun Zala, a seasoned veteran of a previous war, is now serving under diplomat Cagalli Yula Athha. He is once again pulled into a conflict between the Naturals and Coordinators, which are genetically enhanced human beings. The Naturals hold a deep prejudice against the Coordinators due to their biological advantages. As the new war looms and violence threatens to ensue, Athrun takes on the role of mentor for Shinn, who is consumed by his bitterness and desire for vengeance. Athrun must guide him towards a more compassionate mindset before his rage destroys him.
