Monkey Turn is a sports anime that revolves around professional speed boat racing, based on Kawai Katsutoshi's manga published in Weekly Shounen Sunday. The protagonist, Tadano Kenji, harbored dreams of becoming a professional baseball player. However, his short stature made it unfeasible. Tadano's baseball coach suggested he venture into boat racing instead. Unexpectedly, Tadano-san reunites with his former girlfriend, and they make a pact. If she remains loyal to him, he will strive to become the best racer in Japan within three years. The titular "Monkey Turn" is a maneuver Kenji-san devises while he was visiting his girlfriend. Although the Monkey Turn grants Kenji an edge over his competitors, the question remains whether it is enough to secure him as the best racer.
