Tadayasu Sawaki, a freshman in college, possesses an extraordinary talent – he can perceive microorganisms with just his naked eye. His vision encompasses a wide range, allowing him to spot all kinds of microbes including fungi and yeasts that cause athlete's foot and alcohol, respectively. To him, these tiny creatures bear a resemblance to adorable chibi figures. The faculty members at his agricultural university, especially Professor Itsuki, who specializes in fermentation, take a keen interest in Sawaki's unique ability. At the start, Sawaki exhibits an indifferent attitude towards his talent and chooses an agricultural school in Tokyo. However, he gradually learns to appreciate his uncommon vision and the visible microbes, thanks to the support of the quirky community around him. Surrounded by a whimsical group of classmates and professors, Sawaki almost blends in despite his extraordinary talent.
