Description:
Sazae-san, a mother, is the main character living in a household with her spouse, children and parents. The show adheres to traditional themes and is an exemplary family program. It can be likened to "The Partridge Family" in the Japanese context. This show does not showcase violence, swearing, kung-fu action or magical girls. Instead, the plot is simple, such as Sazae-san losing her way in the newly built mall. Though non-Japanese viewers might find the dull plotlines and unsophisticated art uninteresting, most Japanese appreciate the show's ingenuity. As a result, it continues to have high ratings and is one of the few anime that adults consider "appropriate."
