Description:
Takashi Natsume and his spirit guide, nicknamed "Nyanko," are still in the business of returning the names of the spirits in the Book of Friends, a collection given to him by his grandmother, Reiko Natsume, before she passed away. One day after school, Takashi meets a lurking spirit named Monmonbou who recalls memories of his grandmother upon hearing Takashi's name. This piques Takashi's curiosity, and he finds himself exploring a mysterious town where his grandmother once lived. Along the way, he makes friends with Yorie Tsumura and her son Mukuo, who were both acquainted with his grandmother, and learns more about her past. Meanwhile, Nyanko makes a detour in search of food and chances upon a suspicious "Spirit Seed" that miraculously grows into a fruit tree overnight. Tempted, Nyanko eats the fruit, causing him to split into three. In an effort to help Nyanko, Takashi and his friends discover unexpected secrets about the town.
