Description:
Shinichi Chiaki is rapidly making a name for himself as the primary conductor of the resurrected Roux-Marlet Orchestra, and Megumi "Nodame" Noda is progressing as a pianist at the Conservatoire de Paris. Nevertheless, the two experience escalating tensions as Nodame feels disregarded by Chiaki's blossoming accomplishments and his close bond with piano prodigy Rui Son. Ignoring the advice of Professor Charles Auclair, Nodame enters a piano competition to jumpstart her own performance career. In the meantime, those in Chiaki and Nodame's circle confront their own challenges. Rui starts doubting herself after hearing Nodame's playing and being denied tutelage from Auclair. Maestro Franz von Stresemann confronts his own mortality while pianists Yunlong Li and Tatiana Vishneva prepare feverishly for a competition. The latter also struggles with her growing affection for oboist and fellow student Yasunori Kuroki. As Chiaki, Nodame, and their companions forge ahead on their individual paths, they must maintain their authenticity while recalling their roots.
