Description:

While journeying through the Johto region, Satoshi and his friends visit Altomare, an island city that holds an annual racing event called the Pokémon Water Race. While Takeshi and Kasumi enjoy themselves, strange events befall Satoshi. He loses the water race, witnesses some women attacking a girl with their Pokémon, and despite rescuing her, the girl claims to have never met him or Pikachu before. Satoshi's confusion is cleared when he learns that the girl he saved was actually a Pokémon named Latias, who often transforms into her human friend Kanon. Latias and Latios, another Pokémon, are known as the Eon Pokémon, and they protect Altomare alongside a mystical sphere known as the Soul Dew. The Eon Pokémon and the Soul Dew are integral to an ancient Altomare legend that is well-known among locals and even among Latias' attackers, the thief sisters Zanner and Lyon. As the thieves try to capture the Eon Pokémon and the Soul Dew, Satoshi must take action to prevent disaster from befalling Altomare.
