Subaru Natsuki never imagined that leaving the convenience store would thrust him into a mystical world. He is bewildered and apprehensive, but his troubles escalate when some hooligans attack him. Hopeless and helpless, he is mercilessly beaten with nothing but his groceries and defunct cellphone. Fortunately, Satella, a striking female, is in hot pursuit of someone who stole her crest, and she comes to his rescue. Grateful for Satella's noble and generous act, Subaru volunteers to help her search for her emblem. Soon, he discovers the location of her lost symbol. Nevertheless, the joyous moment turns sour as an obscure yet ominous predator stalks them from the shadows. In a matter of minutes after finding the insignia, both Subaru and Satella are brutally slain. Inexplicably, Subaru discovers himself reliving the same haunting scene, facing off against the same gang, and encountering Satella all over again. The mystery of the inexplicable recurrence deepens.
