Description:

Anita King, Maggie Mui, and Michelle Cheung are detectives known as the Paper Sisters. They specialize in cases that revolve around books and operate from Hong Kong under the banner of the Three Sisters Detective Agency. Nenene Sumiregawa reaches out to them for assistance as a local guide and to help her overcome writer's block, caused by her missing friend Yomiko Readman. While Anita is not a book enthusiast, Maggie and Michelle are huge fans of Nenene's writing and are thrilled to work with her. Along with protecting Nenene from book-related terrorists, the Paper Sisters become her bodyguards, relocating with her to Japan to further assist her. They also take up employment at Dokusensha, a secretive organization, where they continue their detective work. In the course of the investigation, they uncover a mysterious link between Nenene's life, Yomiko's disappearance, and the mystical books assigned by Dokusensha. This seemingly simple task turns out to be their most complex case yet. The sisters must decide if they are willing to put themselves in danger for their love of literature.
