In 2020, a nation is plagued by the constant threat of "Others" - mysterious monsters that descend from the sky to feast on human brains. Fortunately, scientists discover the hormone psionics, which grants people with extrasensory abilities that can fend off the Others. In response, the nation's founder initiates the Other Suppression Force (OSF), a group of warriors commonly known as Scarlet Guardians, comprising of psionics-trained young individuals dedicated to eradicating these creatures and saving humanity. Yuito Sumeragi, the resolute son of the nation's founder, is among the select group of extraordinary trainees who have successfully completed the rigorous Scarlet Guardian program, culminating in an induction ceremony honouring these exceptional recruits. One mission drives Yuito - to repay the debt he owes to the woman who rescued him from an Other attack at the tender age of five by joining the OSF and utilizing his training to serve his nation. However, upon meeting his new comrades, he discovers that the woman who saved him bears a striking resemblance to one of his team members. But even as Yuito tries to reconcile this coincidence, a far more significant threat looms over the horizon - an insidious conspiracy that could topple the foundations of his country.
