Unchou Kan'u, Chouhi Yokutoku, and Shokatsuryou Koumei prepare for the next leg of their journey after successfully defeating the bandits and liberating Touka Village. Unexpectedly, they stumble upon a young woman who introduces herself as Gentoku Ryuubi. Ryuubi is determined to restore her good name, which has been tarnished by a slew of false accusations, and recover her family's prized possession, Chuuzan Seiou's sword. To avoid putting Ryuubi in harm's way, the quartet bands together and tracks down the elusive sword as it exchanges hands repeatedly. Although they try their hardest to catch up with the sword's current owner, they never quite seem to be able to get there. During their journey, they encounter various individuals, some of whom they recognize from their past escapades, that lend them a helping hand. As the adventure unfolds, Kan'u and Chouhi come to realize that familial bonds go beyond biological connections.
