Sara Werec, an eleven-year-old girl, had a brother named Ralph who was sent to fight in an interstellar battle located 130 light years away. Despite the distance, Sara promised to join forces with Ralph one day. Five years passed, and Sara became a student at Grapera Space Armed Soldier Academy. She was training to become a Reasoner, which involved piloting an advanced weapon called a "Strain." One day, enemy forces attacked the academy. Sara found herself in a battle against a powerful Strain, which defeated her swiftly. The pilot revealed himself to be none other than Ralph, who had incapacitated Sara. To her shock, Ralph killed all of the other students and destroyed the school before vanishing into the void. Sara was left with many questions about her brother and all that she thought she had known. Thus begins Soukou no Strain, a story about Sara's journey as she enters training under a new identity. She is determined to find her brother and make sense of his actions.
