Description:

Vanitas and Noé Archiviste set out to Gévaudan on a quest to capture the "Beast," a massive wolf-like creature responsible for numerous deaths. Vanitas believes that the Beast may be a vampire afflicted with unquenchable bloodlust and hopes to use his grimoire to cure it. While on their mission, Vanitas and Noé become separated and find themselves transported back to the moment of the Beast's attack. After a brutal battle with the creature and a vampire slayer, Vanitas teams up with Jeanne to search for Noé. However, Jeanne's motives begin to differ when she realizes the Beast might be someone she knew and is tasked with killing it. Meanwhile, Noé is under the care of Chloé d'Apchier and her servant, as he is injured from the fight. Chloé is a hidden vampire who has dedicated herself to protecting future generations and seeks to find a path to humanity. Although Noé is grateful for Chloé's care, he remains unaware of her true intentions and her allegiance to a force that is even more dangerous than the Beast itself.
