Suimei High's Sakura-sou dorm houses some of the most mischievous and difficult-to-handle students, earning it a notorious reputation. Seeking solace from the chaos, transfer student Sorata Kanda sets his sights on the dorm as his new refuge. However, he soon discovers that the dorm is home to a unique group of individuals, including Misaki Kamiigusa, a vivacious artist, Jin Mitaka, an elegant writer, and Ryuunosuke Akasaka, a reclusive genius. With only his friend Nanami Aoyama for support, Sorata feels trapped in this unconventional environment. When Mashiro Shiina, a captivating foreign scholar, arrives at the dorm, Sorata is immediately drawn to her. Despite her creative talents, Mashiro struggles with everyday tasks due to her autism. Sorata takes on the responsibility of caring for her, which deepens their bond and changes his views on leaving the dorm. As Sorata bonds with the dorm's eccentric residents, he realizes his own shortcomings and strives to improve himself to become their equal.
