Description:
Shogi, a game akin to chess, is a beloved board game in Japan enjoyed by individuals of all ages. A select group of skilled players compete professionally for the prestigious title of Ryuuou, denoting the apex of shogi mastery. Recently, Yaichi Kuzuryuu attained the title of Ryuuou after winning a major tournament at a young age. Despite his victory, the shogi community has been critical of his abilities, with some going so far as to deem him the worst Ryuuou in history. Adding to this, Yaichi has neglected his promise to Ai Hinatsuru, a small girl who he agreed to coach if he won. When she unexpectedly arrives at his home, Yaichi begrudgingly agrees to train her as his protégé. Working together, they strive to surpass their current levels of shogi proficiency. Ai seeks to uncover her latent talents whilst Yaichi endeavours to validate his accomplishments to the world.
