Description:
Japan in 2003 was a technological haven where robots were ubiquitous. Tobio, a robot created by the genius Dr. Tenma, was meant to replace his deceased son. However, Tobio's imperfect resemblance to the original child led to Dr. Tenma abandoning him. Luckily, the compassionate Professor Ochanomizu, a social activist for robot rights, saved Tobio from disintegration. Rechristened as Astro Boy, this small robot now wages a campaign to protect and defend Japan and the planet from various malevolent perils. Using his seven exceptional powers and 100,000 horsepower of raw might, Astro Boy fights the forces of evil, aspiring to demonstrate to all that robots can be ethical and altruistic.
