Taking place one year prior to the original Soul Eater, Soul Eater NOT! functions as both a spin-off and side story. The Death Weapon Meister Academy is where individuals endowed with the ability to transform into weapons and wielders of said weapons, known as Meisters, go to refine their innate talents. However, not all students possess an inclination for greatness, and those in the Normally Overcome Target class focus on mastering their abilities to avoid causing harm. Conversely, members of the Especially Advantaged Talent class, which is the main focus of the series, are bred to become defenders of justice and safeguard innocent lives from threats, no matter how grand or minute. Among this backdrop, newcomer Tsugumi Harudori, who can transform into a halberd, grapples with deciding between her two new Meister companions, Meme Tatane and Anya Hepburn. The trio must maneuver through their academic career as they come to terms with their capabilities and duties. Their encounters will undoubtedly be nothing short of remarkable.
