Description:
Rintarou Okabe, a peculiar scientist with an insatiable thirst for scientific discovery, partners with his good-natured but ditzy friend Mayuri Shiina and roommate Itaru Hashida to establish the Future Gadget Laboratory. Their ultimate aim is to produce groundbreaking technology that exceeds human limitations, but as of now, their track record is limited to a microwave that bizarrely converts bananas into green mush. While attending a time-travel conference administered by neuroscientist Kurisu Makise, Rintarou comes to an unexpected realization that the "Phone Microwave" device has more potential than simply being a plaything. It appears to be able to transmit texts into the past, and despite attracting the suspicious attention of an enigmatic organization known as SERN, Rintarou pushes forward with his experimentation with the "time machine." As time passes, Rintarou must set right the historical harm caused by his invention while attempting to safeguard his loved ones and battling his mental deterioration.
