In humanity's dire time of need when the gods remained silent, the desperate turned to a demon as their last hope. Armed with the bloodthirsty sword Zsoltgewinn, the supposed savior not only failed to protect its summoners but also ended up becoming a threat. Though the sword was long since buried, the Shoshidai relocated and acquired it along with other cursed relics. Unfortunately, the sword proved to be uncontrollable, just like the insidious power that poisoned its administrator, Takuma Miura, leading him to run away with it. Meanwhile, Gai Ogata's life falls apart when his family perishes because of Shiryu, another demonic sword. His father was slain, and his mother chose to take her life after Gai was born clutching the wicked blade in the forest. By chance, Amon the blacksmith discovers the orphan, fascinated by the sinister weapon since birth. Though he loses an arm in an accident and is forced to learn his craft anew, he gains a startling replacement: a refashioned Shiryu. Now struggling to control the urges of his cursed arm, Gai is yet to discover the truth about Zsoltgewinn's bloody trail.
