Description:
The plot takes place in the Fukagawa ward of old Edo, now known as Tokyo in present-day Japan, during the Edo period. Due to frequent fires and flooding in the area, the locals opt for renting daily necessities rather than buying them to ensure easy evacuation. Obeni and Seiji operate Izumoya, a rental shop that offers a range of essential items such as cooking pots, futons, and clothes. The siblings also provide unique inventory, which includes tsukumogami- objects that have obtained a spirit form after existing for over a century. Obeni and Seiji, who have a knack for this specialty service, occasionally lend these objects to their customers. They possess the ability to perceive and communicate with the spirit world, which is why other tsukumogami come to visit them at the store. Their reputation precedes them in the supernatural realm as well.
